Yes, I never seem to post ‘resolutions’ at the start of the year. And as I have mentioned many times before, I don’t do ‘resolutions,’ I do goals. But before posting my goals for 2010, I’d like to review my goals for 2009.

Back on January 9, 2009, I posted my nine goals for 2009. Makes me think I should post 10 goals for 2010 on January 10, but I will be running my first marathon that day and might find myself slightly side-tracked…

Looking back over the last year, I accomplished two of the nine. Being the glass-half-full person that I am, I am very proud of that accomplishment! Most people don’t finish the year with one completed. So 2/9 isn’t too shabby. And I would easily say that another three made it awfully close to completion.

1. Race in a half marathon. – ACCOMPLISHED

I raced my first half marathon on March 29th in less than 3 hours. And in less than a week, I will be racing in my first marathon. Mission definitely accomplished.

2. Reach a healthy weight. – Almost there!

I have lost weight this year, mainly thanks to all the running. So while I am not at my optimal BMI, I am at least in a comfortable place.

3. Write my 500th blog post. – Not exactly…

Well I broke 400, but anywhere near 500. At least I blogged a fair amount, though still sporadically as the year went on.

4. Own a home. – ACCOMPLISHED!

June 11th I closed on the house I live in now. Yeah!!!!

5. Be recognized as an attorney who takes care of her clients, always having their best interests in mind. – I believe that I’ve accomplished this one.

I have received ‘Thank You cards,’ referrals, hugs and holiday well wishes from clients current and past. So I like to think that at least the people who I have worked for would considered this complete!

6. Create a cookbook with my family’s favorite recipes. – Oops…

Sorry Stacy! I’m still hoping to get this accomplished. I really need Granny’s cookie recipe…

7. Take a portrait with the Husband every month. – Not. Even. Close.

For various and sundry reasons this did not happen. I think there are four months where we appear in the same picture. I guess that’s what happens when you both are traveling and one of you opens her own business…

8. Make time daily for prayer, reflection and meditation. – Yes and No.

I pray daily, but nearly enough reflection and meditation as was intended when I made this goal. I really believe in the power of meditation so I hope to continue to work on this one too!

9. Learn to spend and save within a budget. – Budget? What is that?

Yeah… nothing more to say about this one…

So all in all, not too many complete failures. Stay tuned for my goals for 2010!

I would like to think I could do it with lots of practice and increased upper body strength. Obviously I am not the only one out there who thinks they could do 100 push-ups. Both J.D. at Get Fit Slowly and workoutmommy have blogged about One Hundred Pushups which is a six-week program that will end in the ability to do 100 push ups.

The programs involves doing sets of push ups three days a week and you only need 30 minutes for each session. The initial test makes you do as many good form push ups as you can. I was easily able to do 5 and made it all the way to 10 before I thought my arms were going to give out. Now I just sit tight until Monday when I start the training program. See you in 6 weeks!

This is going to be a very busy month for me. I have two finals, graduation from law school, a family vacation, a cross-country move and studying for the Big Bad Bar. Yes, I have a very busy month ahead of me. With that in mind, and the lessons learned from last months’ progress (or lack-there-of), I am going to make some less time-consuming goals for myself.

Blog Recipes Twice a Week: I cook the food, take pictures of the food, but then I never share them with you guys! How hard can it be to post a mere 2 recipes a week for my friends who come here looking for tasty meal ideas?

Meditate Daily: Yes, this one is back. Why? Because I think it is one of the most important goals on my list from last month. Clear the mind. Centered. Focused. I really should be doing this more often.

Take More Pictures of Friends and Family: You may know that I am still working on my 365Days over at Flickr. I am taking a self-portrait a day, but not really taking pictures of other people in my life. Not even the Husband! I should take more pictures of those I care for.

Find Out Where My Time Goes: Do you ever wonder what happened to your day? Or week? Or month? I have that problem all the time. Where did my time go? This month will focus on looking at how I spend my time and hopefully some revelation will occur. I mentioned in a previous post that I was tracking my time in 15 minute intervals. I have been doing so until I start fixing dinner. Then it goes by the wayside. I am going to work on that time journal as I feel it is integral to reaching this goal.

There you have it! The goals for this month lean more to the things that make me happier versus the things that make me healthier. OK, so maybe mentally and emotionally healthier. Happy thoughts that all 4 of these goals will be reach by the end of the month.

This month, I am going to try and set some more specific goals. Besides the ones I have previously listed for my “always-there” goals, I also want to add my March Goals:

Read one motivational book. It seems I have been focusing more on the healthy part of my life than the happy part. This will be a start on taking care of both sides.

Reach March Goal Weight. My March Goal Weight is 153. That is a 5 pound weight loss for the month of March; a bit more than 1 pound per week.

Exercise outside. I do not like to exercise in the great outdoors. Especially since my outdoors is a pretty seedy neighborhood. I would like to get to a park this month. If nothing else, out into the 40 degree weather I will be experiencing when I head to Tennessee next week for Spring Break/Apartment Hunting.

Move Faster. I am right now only able to jog about 3 minutes at a time before having to walk again. I would like to increase that to between 4 & 5 by the end of the month.

Do you have any goals this month?
