I still have a freezer full of chicken wings, so I am trying to find different ways to cook up a chickn wing.  Last night’s Tropical Fruit Wontons uses up the last of my cooking oil, so no deep frying until I can go to the grocery store.  Baking was my choice for tonight.  I had a lot of school work to do, so I wanted something I could just stick in the oven and forget about until the timer reminded me there was food in there.  This was a real ‘throw together’ recipe: I just threw stuff together without measuring!  Because of that, you won’t be able to re-create my baked chicken exactly, but that is OK!  It is my favorite part about cooking, finding a recipe and making it your own!

Baked Chicken Wings

Baked Chicken Wings (for one)

Ingredients:

  • 6 frozen chicken wings
  • Cayenne Pepper (about 1 tsp.)
  • Garlic Powder (about 1 tsp.)
  • Paprika (about 1/4 tsp.)
  • Salt (about 1/2 tsp.)
  • Freshly Ground Pepper (about 1/4 tsp.)
  • BBQ sauce (about 2 Tbsp.)
  • Honey (about 1 Tbsp.)

The Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.  Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Place chicken wings on baking sheet and sprinkle one side with dry mix.
  4. Cook for 25 minutes.
  5. Turn the wings over and sprinkle mix on the other side.
  6. Cook for another 25 minutes.
  7. In a seperate bowl, mix BBQ sauce and honey for dipping the wings in. Enjoy!

*Another option is to coat both sides with the dry mix so you don’t have to coat them when you flip.  I had forgot to coat them to begin with and had to do it after they had been in the oven for 5 minutes!!!

  1. I’m impressed that you kept the portion small…a yummy recipe like this would totally be doubled by moi :)

Well… it was more of a late night snack than dinner. I had no more room in my belly!
