I took some pictures of the Husband and I today so we can send some to the MIL. I am still editing them, but for now, I hope you like them!

All of my photos are posted up on Flickr, which means I am one step closer to posting a more detailed review here! There are a lot of photos, so I have convieniently broken them in to the following categories:
Hong Kong (including the Olympics) - 361 photos
Hong Kong Disneyland - 353 photos
Bangkok - 16 photos
Japan (Tokyo & Yokohama) - 292 photos
Tokyo Disneyland - 323 photos
Tokyo DisneySea - 147 photos
Which reminds me… I have about 2 months worth of my 365 Days photos to still upload. I had moved some over to an external hard drive so I had room on my laptop for the trip. Now I have to go back and find them and get another 60 photos uploaded! Crazy, huh?

It has been a while since I have participated in Photo Hunters. Photography is 100% something that keeps me happy. It is such a creative and expressive outlet. Really the only creative outlet I have since I haven’t painted in about 6 years. I take pictures every day, mainly for 365Days and Project365 over at Flickr. But I take pictures anywhere and everywhere.
Photo Hunters has a new theme every week and this week is a “Free Week.” There is no theme and you can post any picture you want. So I chose the gorilla and the gorilla’s mommy from the Atlanta Zoo taken went I went for my birthday this February. You guessed it, it is in honor of Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the other mothers out there.

This week’s theme is “Delicious.” I chose to take a shot of my current favorite salad. It is a warm salad of roasted sweet potatoes, mint, green onions, Serrano chile and a red pepper dressing. Yummy! This is the second time in three weeks I have made it (the other week was when the family was in town and we were eating sushi everyday).

I guess you have noticed my lack of posts here lately. Really, my attentions have been turned elsewhere. I have been busy working on my major 101 in 1001 project: 365 Days. Yup, where I take one self-portrait a day for 365 Days (technically it will be 366 because of the upcoming leap year). So on top of law school, I am taking tons of pictures, mainly of myself. It is a very enlightening process. I feel like I am learning more about photography, but even more importantly, I am learning more about myself. So I plan on posting more, but that means that you will also probably be seeing more shots of me!

This Photo Friday is on ‘The City’. There are many things that stand out to me about living in the city. There seems to be more traffic, more public transportation, more people in general… and usually less greenery. But one thing there is definitly more of is homeless individuals. These sunny sleepers were right across the street where I live.

So this is my very first time doing a Photo Friday. It is another fun weekly challenge where they announce a theme each Friday and you have the over the course of the week to take a picture and post it.
This was a shot that I took while trying to think about how I would address the concept of “Real Life.” I don’t see myself as someone who is living a ‘real life.’ I am in school and doing my own thing, but not living a ‘real life’ of work and responsibility. I am living an “Ashley Life.” So I looked outside myself and decided to think about all of the other people out there who are forced to live ‘real lives.’
Friday was a very rainy day here in San Francisco. It was gloomy outside, so this person in a red hat stuck out more than they normally would have. Probably walking home from work after a long day, looking forward to meeting the family and having dinner and a glass of wine. And wearing a red hat. Because he wants to be different. Special. Unique.

This week, the theme is smelly. There are a lot of scary photos that I could have posted. Instead I am going to leave this one to your imagination. This is an alley that is a block and a half from my apartment building. It always smells weird. Always. It is a combination of city life and city death that fills the air whenever I walk past this particular alley. Sorry I have not yet been able to incorporate ’smell-o-vision’ into this entry!

Found this fun quiz while visiting DSLRBlog - Adventures in Digital Photography, because I saw his guest post on The Top 5 Biggest Micro Stock Photography Mistakes over at Photopreneur. I suggest you check out the article and both blogs! And, hey, why not take the quiz while you are at it?
