The Husband and I had a fabulous time in Vegas. We also did something neither of us had done before. OK, besides brave that Circus Circus roller coaster: Canyon Blaster.  We went to a time share presentation. It took a little over 3 hours and we left, not with a vacation home, but two tickets to Tournament of Kings (jousting and knights fighting fun) for $20 - normally worth $115 and $50 in food certificates for Excalibur restaurants. All in all, I am glad I went. What I learned is that you never say yes there. Find someone who is trying to sell their time share or find a foreclosure and buy it that way. You save lots of money. Even then, I don’t know if it is worth it. I never stay in 5-star accommodations and don’t need to, so why pay property taxes and maintenance fees every year for a property I really don’t need. I would much rather buy a small vacation home some place that I would be guaranteed to go to every year (hello Orlando!).

We also watched “O” at the Bellagio, a Cirque du Soleil production. It was pretty good, but I think La Nouba is much much better. I think next time we go to Vegas we will have to try “Ka.” I think that would be more to my liking. And if you are looking for a place to eat, I highly recommend Chinois at The Forum Shops. It is a Wolfgang Puck restaurant that is of Asian fare. I have the Wasabi Sesame Hawaiian Walu. It has to have been one of the best dishes I have had all year. Yup, even better than Bouchon. Go, eat it, and you will believe you have arrived in heaven.

Speaking of Bouchon, I am now in pursuit of The French Laundry reservations again. Actually, I won’t be trying too hard until I can get them for November - February. The Husband is being threatened about being sent abroad again for September and October. Brazil, Singapore or India. Sounds like fun, huh? Sadly I don’t get to come along. :(

Anyways, this week is the MPRE, so I am studying hard for that. I don’t want to have to take it again. If my scores from these practice tests mean anything, I am not going to have a problem. And next week is the start of school. Let the good times begin!

I have made it safe and sound back home in SF.  But tomorrow I am heading right back out again.  The husband and I are celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary in Vegas!

In case you missed it, we eloped to Las Vegas instead of having an elaborate wedding.  The sad thing is that we were only there long enough to stand in line for the license and the ceremony, but not for any Vegas sightseeing.  Now I have been to Vegas over a half-dozen times.  The Husband has only been for the elopement.  So we decided to have some fun and spend 4 days seeing the sights.  Plus we get to go to a Cirque du Soleil show. YEAH!

See ya guys next week.
