Who is Ashley Eckerle, a.k.a. ashleystravel?
I am an almost 30 year-old, married, law school graduate living in East Tennessee.
Born in Tennessee, but raised throughout the Eastern States, I decided to move out West and see a bit of this Nation before starting my career as an attorney in East Tennessee. Right before moving to San Francisco for law school, I met the love of my life. We have been happily married for over three years now.
There are many things in this world that bring me happiness and pleasure. I love sweet tea, a good movie and the University of Tennessee Volunteers! Sushi is one of my favorite foods, but I would never pass up some chicken and waffles. Upon entering my 20’s I was diagnosed with a pork allergy, so I did have to say goodbye to bacon(OK, sometimes I cheat). I appreciate a good novel, especially something by Nick Hornby or a classic, like The Good Earth. And on top of it all, I have the need - a burning desire - to explore. I have visited 49 of the United States and over 10 different countries. I love to learn about different places and cultures, and then see them with my own two eyes. Finally, I am a photographer. I consider myself a work in progress but I work on it everyday.
My original purpose in this blog was to keep my family and friends updated, since they are spread out across this Nation and beyond. It seems the purpose changes over the years, but it always returns to being a blog about me: Ashley. It’s a “Mommy Blog” without the Mommy! It is a blog about my life, family, photography, food, and travel. It will always be my personal space on this wide web of the internet.
So if you have made it this far: Congrats! Now you know more about me and my blog! Thank you for joining me on this journey of self-exploration or self-exploitation, depending on how you look at it. Just know that this is me and my life. Leave your judgment at the door.
Enjoy!
