I asked the Husband what I should blog abut tonight, as the New Kids on the Block performance on the American Music Awards caused some of my brain cells to fall out my ear. As he is such a darling, he suggested that I should right about “Monkey Lovin’.” You are probably wondering what in the world he was thinking when he suggested that topic. Well here was his train of thought:
- I’ve blogged about the new baby chimpanzee, George, at the Knoxville Zoo.
- I recently purchased Sock Monkey Holiday PJs from Target.

- I watched a rerun of “Growing up… Baboon” on Animal Planet today.
- I own a mini Sock Monkey: Erle (pronounced like “early”).

- My nickname for the Husband is “Monkey.”
- In general, I think monkeys are pretty neat.
What the Husband was trying to say is that I like monkeys and I should declare such an interest out loud: of monkeys in general and of him specifically. So this post is for my favorite monkey:

Ashley,
I am so proud that you have had to courage to declare your love for monkeys. I honestly believe everyone loves monkeys, but most are mortified to think that anyone would know of their secret affections. Your favorite monkey was absolutely right in asking you to finally come clean with those of us that love you. None of us, of course, would have ever questioned your endearing love for your favorite monkey. Your words, your thoughts, your actions, even the air you breath are testiments to your devotion of “favorite monkey.” However, none of us could have guested that you hold such a deeply embedded love of monkeys of all kinds.
Your declaration is supported by me. You love all the monkeys you want. I may even start buying you monkeys for your birthday, Christmas, and anniversarys. I saw monkey make-up at Walgreens here while back. I may go see if they still have it and but it for you. Until then, keep on loving your favorite monkey and tell him I hope to meet him one day. By the way, although I love monkeys too, let him know I refuse to hold him or hand-feed him bananas. One must draw the line somewhere.
Keep on blogging. You are doing well!

Thanks John! No need to search for monkey stuff, though. Mom is already working on that! And you know how tiny my place it.
And the ironic thing: My Monkey doesn’t even like bananas!
